Archaeologist
Megan Bryant is a Staff Archaeologist at CRA’s Richmond office in Virginia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Virginia Commonwealth University and a master’s degree in osteoarchaeology from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland.
Following her undergraduate career, Megan worked with the Germanna Foundation in excavating the 18th century settlement site and home of Lieutenant Governor Alexander Spotswood. Megan has primarily worked in Virginia, participating in several Phase I surveys and Phase II site evaluations, including many projects relating to solar energy development. Trained as a bioarchaeologist, Megan’s master’s research concerned the skeletal manifestations of anemia on the remains of children from a medieval cemetery in Scotland. Her research interests include forensic anthropology, skeletal manifestations of social identity, stress, and health, and the Bioarchaeology of Care.
Outside of work, Megan can be found cuddling her three kitties, Freya, Kiona, and Sidney. Megan also enjoys reading, puzzles, and video games.
