Architectural Historian
John Hurley joined Cultural Resource Analysts, Inc. in the summer of 2022. Before joining CRA, John worked as a teacher in both Kentucky and Chicago public schools. He earned a master’s degree in history from Northeastern Illinois University. His research focused on the United States and the Islamic and Third Worlds during the Cold War. In recent years, John’s research emphasis has shifted from past diplomacy to recreation and the creation of recreational spaces in Kentucky. John earned a Graduate Certificate in Historic Preservation from the University of Kentucky in 2024.
When away from work and research, John enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the outdoors.
