University of Evansville, BA Archaeology
Southwest Baptist University, BS History
Carissa Eckroth first showed an interest in the past while just a child living in South Carolina. After getting a bachelor’s degree in history, she decided to pursue further education in the field of archaeology, which brought her to the University of Evansville in 2020-2022. While attending, she participated in the on-campus excavation of Tin City—housing used for military families during WWII—in 2021. That same year, she began her internship with CRA as a lab technician. Post-graduation, Carissa worked part-time with the Indiana and Louisiana offices as a field technician. Currently, she works full time as a lab and field technician in the Arkansas office.
When she’s not digging holes, Carissa has an array of hobbies that consume most, if not all, of her free time. She enjoys playing video games with friends, working on sewing and crafting projects, spending time with her nieces, and simply relaxing with her favorite books and TV shows. You might catch her displaying her sewing skills at local and national anime or comic conventions.
