Chelsey Johnson joined CRA as an architectural historian in 2021. She has a diverse educational and professional background, with undergraduate degrees in computer science and mathematics. She earned master’s degrees in Public History and Appalachian Studies from Appalachian State University, where her research focused on the historic and contemporary folk traditions and foodways of Southern and Central Appalachia, as well as the material culture and vernacular architecture of the region.
Outside of the office, Chelsey enjoys reading, pampering her three cats, and keeping her vintage Mercedes roadworthy.
