Jaycee Castro

Field Technician
EDUCATION

University of Kentucky, BS Anthropology

Jaycee Castro is originally from Lexington, Kentucky, where she graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2024 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Anthropology, with a concentration in Biological Archaeology. While a student, Jaycee conducted both fieldwork and research in both Appalachian coal towns and Southwestern Indigenous skeletal analysis, earning departmental honors and awards in both scholarly activity and research. Her love of the outdoors and a passion for Bioarchaeology led her to join CRA at the Kentucky Office as a Field/Lab Intern in 2023 and has continued as a full time Technician in 2024.

When Jaycee isn’t out digging holes, you can find her reading in her hammock, (intentionally) lost in the woods, trying new coffee shops, or lying in bed with her cat Winston!
