About This Project

Greens Hollow Environmental Impact Statement

CRA was retained to carry out a series of cultural resource-related activities in support of the Greens Hollow Mine Expansion project, which included the improvement of Manti LaSal National Forest roads, construction of utility lines, and mine-related consruction associated with the expansion of the Greens Hollow subsurface long wall mine tract.

This was a multi-year study in which CRA completed the Heritage Resource Inventories, as well as compiled the cultural resource sections for the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and responded to public comments. A key series of analyses were associated with the identification of areas likely to be impacted by subsidence from the proposed subsurface mine. CRA then inventoried for and evaluated resources within the zones of subsidence and provided recommendations for mitigation of adverse effects.
