Architectural Historian
Brittany Sams joined CRA in 2022. As an architectural historian, her responsibilities include researching and documenting historic properties by conducting archival research and field surveys, evaluating the significance of historic properties, and preparing written reports that provide summary findings and recommendations.
A childhood move from the suburbs of Nashville to the small and historic community of Maysville, Kentucky inspired her love of history and architecture, which was further established during a study abroad experience at Oxford during her senior year in college. Brittany received her master’s degree from the University of Kentucky’s Historic Preservation Program in 2019. Since graduation, she has worked as a Program Specialist for Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, a Historic Preservation Specialist for the Blue Grass Trust for Historic Preservation, and an Architectural Historian for Wood EI&S.
While not in the field or in the office, Brittany enjoys music, reading, hiking, canoeing, and spending time with her family.
