Archaeologist
Brandon Ritchison joined CRA in 2026 and has 15 years of field, laboratory, and teaching experience in the archaeology of the pre-contact Eastern Woodlands of the US. He received his BA from the University of the Kentucky and his PhD from the University of Georgia. Brandon has developed and supervised multiple large- and small-scale archaeological and geophysical projects across the Midwest and Southeast US. His research interests lie at the intersection of chronology, human migrations, socioecological systems, and settlement structure. These investigations have resulted in numerous publications, presentations, and technical reports based on the creation and integration of chronological, ceramic, and shallow geophysical data.
Beyond archaeology, Brandon enjoys spending quality time with his wife, son, and very orange cat. He loves reading, board games, gardening, and hiking.
