Annie Doyon has been employed as an Architectural Historian at CRA since 2009. She received her bachelor's degree in history from the University of Victoria, in Victoria, British Columbia, in 2003. In 2009, Annie received her Master of Historic Preservation degree from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. During her undergraduate studies, Annie spent one year studying at the University of California, San Diego.
Prior to joining CRA, Annie served as a research assistant for the Kentucky Heritage Council’s Main Street Program, the Rural Heritage Development Initiative, and a grant program through the University of Kentucky developing rural design guidelines. During the years leading up to graduate school, Annie was also employed as the assistant to the director at the Eastside Heritage Center, a local community heritage and preservation organization in Bellevue, Washington, and was involved in a variety of volunteer activities and events with Spokane Preservation Advocates in Spokane, Washington. Between 2005 and 2006, Annie attended the Spokane Falls Community College program in interior design to explore her interests in design and gain knowledge about construction methods, drafting, drawing, and more, in preparation for graduate school.
Annie’s responsibilities as an Architectural Historian for CRA include researching and documenting historic properties by conducting archival research and field surveys, evaluating the significance of historic properties, and preparing written reports that provide summary findings and recommendations for various types of cultural historic projects.
Outside of work, Annie enjoys spending time with her family and her hound dog, travelling, working on creative projects, and spending time outdoors--especially in, on, or near the water.
