Wes Bacon-Schulte was born in Colorado. He has been doing odd jobs since he was old enough to wield a tool and not put out his eye! He has worked as a lawn sprinkler repair man, plumber, backhoe operator, wastewater technician, automotive technician, ski lift operator, cook, weldor, GIS technician, and, most important to him, an archaeologist.

Wes received a bachelor's degree in anthropology and history from the University of Colorado in 2003. In 2008, he finished a master's degree in anthropology from Mississippi State University. Wes' thesis centered on prehistoric settlement patterns in East-Central Mississippi. His archaeological interests include environmental, evolutionary, and historic archaeology; prehistoric Americans; mythology; ancient writings; and settlement patterns. Wes has worked in Wyoming, Mississippi, Utah, Missouri, Illinois, and Kentucky.

In his free time, Wes enjoys building, hiking, skiing, camping, and four-wheeling. When he cannot venture outside, he enjoys movies, video games, and suspense novels. Plus, he never misses a baseball game, if played by his favorite team, the Pittsburgh Pirates.
