Jason Kennedy joined CRA in 2013 and serves as a Staff Archaeologist in the Shreveport, Louisiana, office. He holds a M.A. in applied anthropology and has 15 years of archaeological experience in the Southeastern United States. He has been a part of numerous archaeological projects related to recovery efforts in response to Hurricane Katrina in and around Louisiana, as well as projects in Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas.


Originally from New Albany, Mississippi, Jason attended the University of Mississippi were he completed a dual major in History and Anthropology and he was a part of the 2001 field school that helped broaden the exposure of the uses of geophysical methods in archaeology. He then attended Mississippi State University, where he took graduate courses and participated in several small projects and internships. Afterwards, Jason moved on to work on recovery and rebuilding projects in New Orleans while also continuing work on his thesis, Disturbance and its Effects on the Archaeological Concepts of Significance and Integrity. After obtaining his Masters in 2011, he worked for a time on the BP Oil Spill before joining CRA. Since that time he has run and assisted with numerous projects large and small including work at Fort Polk, Kisatchie National Forest, development and pipeline projects.
